The Shade School – UPDATE

Posted on: No Comments

In this short clip you can see the extent of the hall, the school kitchen and to the right – the dance studio. A lighting bar hangs from the ceiling, ready to shine lights upon our stage in the future. The left hand side of the hall will house a three-armed climbing frame and rope ladders. Properly sprung flooring will support our gymnastic and dance lessons and the under-floor heating will keep us warm!

School started smoothly last week. Lots of smiles from the children, positive comments from the parents and very satisfied staff. The office finally got the internet and the teachers got their laptops. Furniture for the new school ordered, including some bright green soft seating for the library. Scaffolding is coming down and the new school sign should be up soon!

One of our mums offered this picture to show just how smart the children look in their new uniform.

The Shade Primary School

The third primary school in Soham is making good progress. The scaffolding is coming down and residents of the Shade end of Soham can nearly see what the school will look like, from the outside, on completion.

Today the first ever intake of children started school on our temporary site, at the Weatheralls. Parents commented on how lovely the classrooms looked and the children were smart in their new uniform!
